Adopt-A-Road Program

The Adopt-A-Road Program is a program offered by the Ogemaw County Road Commission that encourages volunteers to clean and maintain county highways with the mission of the program to reduce litter, enhance the landscape appearance, and protect the health and welfare of the community.

There is no fee required to participate in the Adopt-A-Road Program. The Ogemaw County Road Commission asks volunteers to commit to at least a one mile stretch of roadway (both sides of the road) and agree to pick up litter a minimum of tow (2) times a year during designated dates in April, July, and September in conjunction with the MDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway calendar. The Road Commission will provide two recognition signs, trash bags, vests, and trash pickup.

If you or your group is interested in becoming a member of the Adopt-A-Road Program, you can contact the Ogemaw County Road Commission at 989-345-0234 or ocrc@ogemawcrc.org.

Adopt-A-Road Program – Safety Guidelines

our group will be asked to conduct a “safety meeting” outlining the safety procedures with all participants prior to picking up litter. A safety outline is provided in the Applica on & Right-of-Way Permit and Litter Pick Up Report and video provided by MDOT located below
